Dear colleague,

With the close of every academic year, I like to pause in the flurry of activity surrounding commencement, baccalaureate ceremonies and celebrations to take stock of our students' academic achievements and the other remarkable accomplishments at the College of Liberal Arts.

For me, all the hard work the faculty and staff invest in our graduates each year is really about "student success." That includes not just our various academic departments, but also our Academic Advising Center and our administrative offices. In much the same way that our students define who we are as a college, we who have made our careers in CLA also play a critical role in helping them define themselves as students and alumni.

Because I care deeply about our students and because I am a "lifer" here at Temple University, I feel that it is more important than ever to support CLA, which is why I am asking you to join me in making a gift to the college today. Our support now is the best way of ensuring that this generation and future generations have access to the world-class education we offer.

Whatever your funding interests may be, from academic departments to student awards, please know that your gift of any amount will help to promote our students' success. You may, for example, want to consider supporting CLA's Student Assistance Fund, which is specifically designed to provide financial help to undergraduates who have encountered hardships that may hinder their academic progress or force them to withdraw from school.
