Refurbishing Computers
The Freedom Rings project will refurbish 150 computers at Girard College that will be distributed to low-income residents and the organizations that serve them throughout Philadelphia.

Race to Connect
Teams of volunteers will race around Girard College and the surrounding communities, working together to learn more about Philadelphia's civil rights history and current efforts to address the inequality of broadband access in the city -- and to document MLK Day of Service activities using social media. Teams will visit selected locations to solve riddles, interview volunteers and perform service. Be ready for a fast-paced adventure!

American Red Cross Blood Drive
One hour of your time to register, get a mini physical, donate one pint of blood (5-10 minutes actual donation time) and enjoy refreshments. Each pint collected can help save as many as three lives within our community. Donors must eat 1-3 hours prior to donation, drink one extra bottle of water and bring valid ID with them to the blood drive.

NewCORE Conversation of Kings: From Dream to Sacrifice
Join a multi-racial, interfaith body of students, citizens and other volunteers for a conversation on race and ethnicity. Convened by the New Conversation on Race and Ethnicity (NewCORE), the conversation will continue participants on the long mark toward the realization of the as yet unfulfilled promise – "a more perfect union."

Philadelphia Fire Department CPR Training
The Philadelphia Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services Training Unit will deliver CPR training to volunteers.

Volunteers are also free to participate in other volunteer opportunities available on the campus. Additional activities includes a Kids' Carnival and Public Workshops. Supervision is strongly encouraged for families bringing children to the site. All volunteers will receive an MLK Day of Service T-shirt at Girard College.
