It's a new year and an exciting time to be a Temple graduate! This month, there are two opportunities for alumni to lend a helping hand as part of the annual MLK Day of Service. Young Alumni (graduates of the last 10 years) are also invited to help kick off the new year at a TUYA happy hour. In February, don't miss out on the opportunity to be an alumni mentor at the third annual Student & Alumni Networking Night. For details on these events and much more, see below.


MLK Day of Service: Volunteer Opportunity at Paul L. Dunbar School
Friday, Jan. 14, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
Paul L. Dunbar School, 1750 North 12th St., Philadelphia
The College of Education, the Office of Sustainability and the Temple University Black Alumni Alliance (TUBAA) are joining forces to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of service. All alumni are invited to lend a helping hand at Philadelphia's Paul L. Dunbar School.

MLK Day of Service: Volunteer Opportunity at Girard College
Monday, Jan. 17, 9:00 AM-noon

Girard College, 2101 South College Avenue, Philadelphia
TUBAA and Temple University Young Alumni (TUYA) invite all alumni to join Temple students, faculty and staff by lending a helping hand on Jan. 17 on various projects at Girard College.

Temple University Young Alumni: New Year Happy Hour and Quizzo Night
Thursday, Jan. 27, 6:00-8:00 PM
McGillin's Olde Ale House, 1310 Drury Street, Philadelphia
Join fellow young alumni (2001-2010 graduates) at one of Philadelphia's oldest Irish pubs in the heart of Center City. Enjoy a fun night of pub trivia, mingling and appetizers. Trivia masters will win fabulous prizes! Also, the first 20 attendees will receive a free drink ticket. Drink specials are available for this event.
$5 per person includes games and light appetizers

Third Annual Student & Alumni Networking Night
Tuesday, Feb. 15, 5:00-7:45 PM (Alumni program begins at 6:00 PM)
Main Campus, Student Center, room 200, 13th Street between Cecil B. Moore and Montgomery avenues
Networking Night, which is co-hosted by the Temple University Young Alumni, Temple University Black Alumni Alliance, Temple's Career Center and the Office of Leadership Development, encourages students to meet with Temple alumni from all careers and fields to hone their networking skills and prepare for today's highly competitive job market. More than 250 students and 100 alumni participated in last year's event. Click here for additional information.
