Temple University Alumni Association

Dear Fellow Owls:

This Saturday, April 21, as part of Alumni Weekend 2012, the Temple University Alumni Association will honor the Class of 1962 with a 50th Anniversary Celebration of our graduation. To further celebrate, our class has been raising donations to support our alma mater today and far into the future.

Now, I am pleased to announce creation of the Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund, made possible by a pledge by our classmate and University Trustee Phillip Richards, SBM '62. Phillip has agreed to match all gifts to the Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000 (the minimum amount required to establish an endowed scholarship).

Attending Temple during the late 1950s and early 1960s was an affordable life-changing experience to a generation of self-starters and first-generation college students; as a result, many graduated without debt. This distinction, unfortunately, is not shared by today's students.

Continued decreases in state funding, scholarships and financial aid mean the difference between attending Temple, or any institution of higher education, and not attending college at all.
Please join me in making a tax deductible donation today to the Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund by selecting "Featured Opportunities" and then "Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund."

Together, we can ensure that future generations of Owls have access to the same quality education we received without having to amass prohibitive debt. There is no better way to honor and celebrate the Class of 1962 and Temple University.

Thank you for joining us!

Sincerely,

Loretta C. Duckworth
