In a bold move underscoring Temple University's commitment to access and diversity, President Neil D. Theobald announced the Temple Option, an admissions path for talented students who show great potential for success but don't perform well on standardized tests.
Fox Chase, TUH earn top rankings
Temple University Health System's Fox Chase Cancer Center has been ranked 19th nationally for cancer care in the 2014–2015 list of Best Hospitals by "U.S.News & World Report," which also recognized Temple University Hospital as among the best in the Philadelphia region and a high performer in six specialties.

Penny Rafferty Hamilton, CHPSW '68, was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in March. She is co-holder of a world and national speed record with her husband, Bill, and teaches children about aviation as Penny the Pilot. She also contributed to Absent Aviators: Gender Issues in Aviation, which will be published by Ashgate in September. That book addresses the dearth of women pilots in both civilian and military aviation.
Alan J. Inman, FOX '73, was appointed president of Global Peace Foundation-USA, a nonprofit organization committed to resolving conflict and promoting harmony around the world.
Yumy Thos L. Odom-Robinson, CLA '93, curated an exhibit titled The Heruic Age: Ten Thousand Years of Gods, Heroes, Amazons, Wizards & Warriors, which showcased Philadelphia-area graphic and visual artists. The exhibit focused on independently published African-American comic books by Philadelphia-based artists.
Derrick A. Hodge, BYR '01, has materials related to his career on display at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Those include an upright bass, electric bass, and music and film scores penned by Hodge.
