As a senior dental student, the work horizon can be daunting. As we transition into our professional roles, we encounter a myriad of decisions that directly impact our futures in a significant way. Factors such as location, salary and employer are major determinants in shaping our lives. Most of us would benefit from speaking freely to someone who can guide us, making our career journey smoother and more enjoyable.
During my fourth year of dental school, I was fortunate to have been paired with Dr. Eric Forte, of Lakeview Dental in Gibbsboro, NJ. We met through the Temple University Alumni Association's mentor program and developed a very close friendship. Having an insider's perspective, he has helped me think beyond dentistry and focus on navigating the bigger picture.
I encourage all alumni to take the same approach by Dr. Forte and give back to your industry by helping someone achieve their professional goals. The mentorship program offered by Temple University is a rewarding way to help the dental community continue to grow stronger and more united.

140 New Students!
One hundred and forty students from over 80 schools across the country joined us this past Thursday for freshmen orientation. During orientation, the new freshmen were paired with upperclassmen "buddies" who will be there to guide them on their path to becoming excellent Temple dentists. The Class of 2018 has proven to be a dynamic and engaging group of students, traits our alumni also pride themselves on.
